Are tall females really a turn-off to most guys?

There's a lot of statistics out there these days saying men biologically prefer shorter women, and they are just naturally attracted to them more. I think petite and tall women can both be stunning, and don't see a distinction in one being ier than the other. I'm tall myself (5'10 3/4), have always felt attractive and appealing to the male gender at my height, so I have a hard time accepting that men just aren't attracted to taller women. Still, I guess statistics don't lie. But if so, why are supermodels so revered by men if height is a turn-off? It seems like there are mixed messages out there as to what guys like.
