Leaving your baby alone in a store?

I don't understand how someone could do that. I am so paranoid when it comes to taking my son out to the store. I am always holding on to his stroller. If I know I am going to be in that spot for awhole I lock the wheels on the stroller. I also make sure that he is strapped into his car seat so someone can't just pick him up and run out.
